In less than 12 hours...
...I will be a college student!

My roommate has already moved in. She had to come early, because of some sort of family emergency. I'm kind of bummed about that. Since I'm a "D" and she's an "S", I was supposed to move in about four or five hours before her. I really hope she took the right side of the room, because I've always preferred the left side.

I've spent the whole day packing like crazy. I have no idea how I'm supposed to fit all of this stuff in my room. We'll see.

I went over to Rachel and Jacky's houses this afternoon to say goodbye. I'm going to miss all of my now-Senior friends.

ASC people on my flist... we need to figure out when to meet up sometime next week.

So, yes, for those who haven't yet heard, Gia broke up with my last friday. I've been drowning my sorrows in my new loves:

The Ting Tings

Alexander Keith's (yes, I've heard about the kiddie porn thing)

Team Fortress 2

So, if you see someone, walking down the street drunk at night, alternatively singing "They call me quiet girl, but I'm a riot", and calling for Medic is a Russian accent, just find me a taxi.

wheeee
WHEE.
I did a LOT better than i thought i would. I didn't fail one subject, which came as a shock to me.
Here's how it went down:
My mum picked me up at about 10:30 and we got there about 10:50. It literally took us 10 minutes to get in because everyone else was there and they all were hugging me and shit. Then my friend Sam gave me a pirate keychain thing which is adorable as fuck. Then as we get to the door round the back where we have to go around the back and into the gym, my friend Emily stopped me to admire my Dark Knight t-shirt. So we get to the gym finally, my mum is panicking like shit and i'm shaking so bad. I get the envelope and i'm shaking so much that i can't open it. I finally manage to tear the envelope open and a bunch of paper is in there. I'm like 'WTF DOES THIS MEAN' and my mum took it from me and read out my results.
I'm gonna post them here because i am pretty proud of myself.
English - A*
English Lit - A
RE (religious studies) - A
ICT - A
Art - B
History - B
Science - C
Geography - C
Maths - C
I have to say that when my mum read out my English results i fucking spazzed and was like 'WHAT.' It was crazy.
I also was a little disappointed that my English teacher didn't come up to me to say congrats or anything. :( I heard her laughing in the corner with this other teacher so i hope she has a decent fucking excuse as to why she didn't say hi after what, 9 weeks?

Anyway, it took us another ten minutes to get home because i was being an ass and wouldn't decide whether to go back to [info]alittlebitcool's house or go home to get changed for our lunch date. I went home and got changed in the end, and i danced around my house with Boogie Shoes playing loudly.
Lunch was fun. We were sort of split into two groups though because the table was so long. My friend Ali kept splashing himself with his Tango which made me laugh because he got it in his eye. And omg, he happened to say something really racist when one of the waitresses was behind him. I'm not saying he's racist, but it could have seemed that way and omg. We were cracking up.
After lunch, a bunch of us went home, but a few of us decided to walk to Starbucks. Big fucking mistake as i was wearing heels. :(
I ended up buying some flip flops because it hurt so much.
I also got some headphones for my iPod because my other ones were hurting my ears.
Oh and in Starbucks we were people-watching and this guy just let his dog crap in the middle of the street. Like seriously. And people were stepping in it and it was gross. But it made us laugh. But i couldn't finish my frappucino because it was brown. :(
Oh and lol we also took some pictures behind this cut out thing, like how you get at the beach. Lmao, that was fun. My dad has took the camera so i'll upload the pictures another time maybe.
Yeah.
It was a hectic day and now my feet hurt and i'm terribly tired.
Oh and excuse my bad language, i've gotten very foul-mouthed lately.
PEACE OUT, BITCHES

18 hours?
Yep, i'm just posting because i'm bored and i need to keep my mind off of tomorrow.
SO, i'm going to do a meme.
And maybe post some icons, let's see how long it takes for me to complete and post this entry.
TIME NOW: 6:31pm

I'm in love with Susan Blackwell.
She's from [title of show] for you non-tossers. She's just incredibly funny, talented, sweet and bitchy. I love her blog entries on the [tos] website. They kept me entertained until 3am this morning.
The more i see the [tos] gang post webisodes and stuff, the more i want to see their show. I'm really tempted to just download a bootleg and watch/ listen to it but i want to be surprised if i ever get to see them live. I'm going to really try and persuade my mum to go on holiday next year to Florida again. Because she said if we do go back to the states, we'd stay for a long weekend in NYC. Obviously we'd have to see a show and i have my heart set on [title of show]. I'm sure i'll enjoy it and i don't really give a crap if my parents and brother hate it. I'll convince them that they'd like it. They did like Wicked. But it is a little different from [tos]. lol.

As i mentioned in a previous entry, i am loving JMurney right now, and i got really excited when she was mentioned in the [tos] show and the [tos] [blog]. I've done some icons, and i would like to share them with you now.
i've also done some Susan icons too. jsyk.

I'll post tomorrow, eek.
I am so crapping it. But i'm going out with a load of friends for lunch after getting our results.
I may take some pictures, it'll be the last time i see some of my best friends. :(
WISH ME LUCK, BITCHES.

Well, after all of that.

TWO DAYS.
I am freaking out now.
I need to take my mind off of my results. I've been making icons, lurking around ONTD and putting Kathy Griffin: My Life On the D-List Season 1 on my iPod. I watched four of the episodes last night which made me fall asleep at around 4 this morning. Yay.

IN OTHER NEWS.
+McDonald's are giving away Coca Cola glasses shaped like the Coca Cola cans. We have five. Shows how much take out we get, but hey, i'm only getting the large Big Mac meals for the glasses! They are so awesome, i'm gonna take a picture. Actually, scrap that, my dad's taken the camera. OH WELL.
+BIG MUCHOS GRACIAS TO [info]littlemsglinda for introducing me to [title of show]. I've been listening to them non stop. It is such an original, fun show that is not only hilariously funny but the songs are catchy and the lyrics have meaning. It's everything i love in a show rolled into one, which makes it a must see for when i ~eventually~ get to go to New York. Which will maybe be next year. MAYBE.
+I'm on a Julia Murney binge lately, which is slowly turning into a Flicka binge. I switch from obsession to obsession every few days, and sometimes i get so hyped up on one thing that i miss out on other stuff. It's difficult, i tell you! But yeah, seriously, there are not enough Murney pictures out there. I want to just stumble upon a massive, beautiful photoshoot with her in various expensive clothes and dresses with different backgrounds. Is that too much to ask?
+I can't think of anything else to say.
+OH YES I CAN. Ugh, i am so annoyed at CNN.

WTF IS THIS. 'MARRIES'? SUCK IT, CNN, SUCK IIIIIIIT.
I was seriously pissed off about this last night. I don't really know why, but it hurt me a little.
I don't understand why they had to make such a cheap shot at gay marriage. For fuck's sake, just let them celebrate their love and leave it be.
+Oh and wtf is with Team GB? WIN SOME MORE MEDALS, FFS.

and i'm done. :)
I'll post some icons soon. Cuz that's all i'm doing lately. xD

Musings
Life as a Research and Recruitment Assistant, Schulich Ambassador Coordinator, and Orientation Coordinator is chug chug chugging along.

I am working towards Discover McGill - McGill's First Year Orientation Day. I have had to order swag, gather/coordinate volunteers, field questions from first years, come up with a presentation, coordinate and act as liason between departments, and overall organize the event from the ground up with no other instructions or help than "You're in charge of Discover McGill."

New this year: I've elected to give each first year a special Shulich School of Music Swag Bag. Complete with Manuscript Paper, Extendable I.D. Holders, Agendas, Candy and HOPEFULLY Luggage Tags to put on their instruments.

The reason I say hopefully is because the Luggage Tags supposedly won't arrive at the school until the fourth of September.

Here is my beef:

I ordered the Luggage Tags and the Extendable I.D. Holders from the same place. There was a problem with the I.D. Tags but they ended up arriving BY THEMSELVES last week. This was great, but search as I might I couldn't find the luggage tag. SO yesterday I fired off a message to the woman handling the McGill Account.

HER: "Hi Aria, the Luggage Tags are expected to be there for the 4th of September."

Now I ask you: WHO SENDS HALF THE ORDER, THEN SENDS THE SECOND HALF A FULL THREE WEEKS LATER! If you were any sort of intelligant being you would assume that based on my introductory email where I stated we'd be handing these things out at our orientation day, that we would need BOTH things to hand out for the same day. Why on earth would you send one product and neglect to send the other. I would even be more understanding of BOTH products arriving late, as opposed to one arriving ahead of schedule and the other arriving later. At least that's consistant. Now I have to tell my boss that ONE thing arrived, but the other is on its way. Are you serious! Oy! So now I'm trying to get someone on the phone so that I can hopefully arrange to get it sent here faster, but no one is returning my email or my phone calls and I am getting increasingly frustrated.

In other news I've also been roped into running frosh. I'm subbing for a friend of mine who was supposed to do it, but couldn't be in town for the event. I have a meeting this afternoon with the other girl running the show to work things out.

OY Gevalts!

4 days..
Until my GCSE results.
Dear god.
I was at the dinner table and my mum was all 'you know your results come out this thursday'
and i'm like 'no, it's not a day yet. it's just 21st to me. it's not this thursday, don't do this to me.'
so she's like 'it's this thursday at 10am, i'm pretty sure. want me to come with you?'
my dad's all 'you know you can't open the envelope until i get home from work'
my mum's like 'wtf, no. we're doing it there and then.'
my dad's like 'WUT.'
then we just started talking abuot racism randomly and told some jokes
it was an unusual dinner.

Anyway, i love whoever's uploading the Kathy Griffin - My Life On The D-List first series. I'm downloading them and putting them onto my iPod. ;D
My brother bought the Olympics game fo PS3 yesterday so we played that for ages. I got really grumpy because i hate games where you play against each other. At least i got 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze and my brother had like 1 silver. It's a pretty good game, but i'd prefer to play it against computers instead of my brother who i can see and hear his gloating.

Yeah, also i downloaded Mamma Mia! screen caps because i wanted to take some icons, but they're really poor quality so that sucks.
I also downloaded Finding Nemo and Mean Girls screen caps. Oh i'm gonna have so much fun this week keeping my mind off of my results.
I really hope i don't see my English teacher on the 21st. I'm so embarassed about Prom and how i acted.
Ugh.
I also need to go into town sometime this week. I want to flaunt my Dark Knight t-shirt and buy some stuff from Lush.
I need to get my skin looking better :(

i found the voice you thought you gave to mee~!
My friend came over today for a massive Guitar Hero rock session.
We rocked our cocks off, basically.
We played 1,2,3, Rock of the 80's and Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I have never heard 'Slow Ride' by Foghat so many times. AND I STILL LOVE IT ;D.
And who knew that 'Black Magic Woman' by Santana would be so fucking hard?! We got pissed and decided to just go with the Alice Cooper song. Then my friend, Tamara, kept calling me a Black Magic Woman, and i found that stupidly hilarious.
And my dogs kept like trying to climb onto me while i was doing these awesome riffs. So i started abusing them, verbally and physically. ;D
We had like a 7 hour session of Guitar Hero. It was the most fun i've had in a while.
Which is lame.

OH AND OMG JULIA MURNEY.
YOU SHOULD COME TO THE UK AND PLAY EVA PERON K. ILU.
The bootleg for Evita in Sacramento is ~flawless~. I just loved her singing Buenos Aires. And Don't Cry For Me Argentina.
Nearly in tears D:
So good. I'm so glad she pwned. Like i knew she would. :D

OH OH AND THE MEGAN PAP PICTURES.
Bb is looking fiiiine. So is Megan. HA.
No srsly, they both looked so amazing and cute and their dogs are adorable.
And i want her bag.

I watched Little Nicky earlier. It wasn't as good as i remembered. Hm.
I also downloaded Listen by Beyonce. From the Dreamgirls soundtrack. I saw it on a music channel and i fell in love with it. That girl can belt. Wow. Seriously.

In other news.
I AM SO FRAKING EXCITED FOR DH NOW.

HOW GOOD DO THEY ALL LOOK? OMG.
Marcia, i think, this is one of her worst promos. :(
Teri looks amazing. Which i didn't want.
FLICKA YOU CAN COME TO MY HOUSE AND I'LL COOK FOR YOU OR SOMETHING. WE'LL MAKE IT LAST, I SWEAR.
Anyway, Felicity looks so beautiful and cute.
Eva, again, i think could have looked better. She would have looked better in the promo with her short hair. :l
Nicolette. HELLO BB. LOOKIN' GOOD THERE. This is one of the best pictures i've seen of her. Like, forever. I love it.

Anyway, just thought i'd update because i haven't updated in a day and it feels like forever.
Again, so lame.

Post Fart
Wow, it's been a month since I updated. A lot has happened, but I feel as if I have nothing to say. Anyway, I'll start from the most recent:

I'm slightly determined to go to the London Olympics in 2012. No, it's NOT too early to think about it. London isn't too far from DC (6 hour flight) and England is a cool country to visit. Plus, there is no language barrier. I think it'd be cool to be able to say "I went to the Olympics" when I'm old.

Kelsey, if you are reading this, I know everyone down in Iowa is happy about Sean getting on the podium. She's such a cutie! Of course, my fellow Marylander Mr. Phelps, isn't bad either. ;-) We should play Olympic poker sometime.

I'm going back to school in the fall, and it feels soooo weird. I will be getting the degree in Humanities that I always wanted. My stupid first school dropped the Humanities Major two years before I started, and then reinstated it last year. And because this is the second degree I've pursued, I only have to take major classes, so no science or math! So that means that I'll be in school for about 2.5 on a part-time schedule. I plan on milking that student ID for all it's worth too! Now that I am paying my own tuition, I really need those discounts!

Dance class was good this term. I took a half/step course which helped me clean up some of my issues. I'm going to level 2, and I'm excited! I'm also getting a new teacher (my regular one teaches mostly on Thursdays when I have class). Northernwalker, if you are reading this, are you taking B2 this term? Send me a message here on LJ and let me know what's up.

I somehow got tickets for Opening Night of Carmen at the Kennedy Center. I guess some rich people (subscribers) decided they couldn't go, because when I called during open-member ticket purchasing the man told me "I have tickets for November 8th" for a reasonable price. I originally said yes because the show is long (3.5 hours) and I didn't want to have to work after such a late night. The 8th is a Saturday, so it's perfect. Well I almost pee'd on myself when I realized that Saturday was opening night! This means I have to get a nice dress!

All in all it's been a good summer. Fall should be interesting!

OMG.
MAMMA MIA! WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME.
OMG.
I HAVEN'T LAUGHED SO HARD IN AGES. OMG. JULIE WALTERS <3;. CHRISTINE BARANSKI <3;. MERYL STREEP <3.
OH MY.
Wow. I wasn't expecting to love it this much.
I was expecting something totally different. Like the other movie musicals they make, it would be ~emotional~ and ~dramatic~ but it wasn't at all! It was light and funny when it needed to be, but yet it nearly made me cry. Perfect mixture, i'd say. ♥
And my NAN loved it! So that's saying something.
I wasn't totally laughing at Pierce Brosnan's singing though, bless him. Half of the theatre were cracking up every damn time he sang. Which got kind of annoying. But at least nobody tried to sing along with the film, i would have slapped them upside the head.
Amanda Seyfried. Jesus, she has a really really nice voice. And Meryl, aww. I love her voice, and when she was sort of growling in the beginning i was like DROOL. Though i had to keep it under restraints because of my nan sitting beside me.
I was really surprised that she liked it. She was breaking her heart laughing throughout it with me, and that was a nice feeling. We don't get to do much together, and this was a nice way to spend some time with her. And she loves Meryl Streep, so i love her more for that xD.
Yeah. So i really liked it.

I think i'll wait until tomorrow to make my uber big icon post.
I'll find some Mamma Mia! pictures and iconise them before posting tomorrow. I'm on such a buzz right now.
Gotta go to bed reasonably early tonight as i'm going to town with [info]_sivanra_ tomorrow. <33

So i'm off to see Mamma Mia! in a matter of minutes. I'm so fraking excited.
I'm also taking my nan because she likes Meryl Streep. Who wouldn't? ;D

I've been on a downloading spree lately. I'm trying to get Julia's last show as Elphaba but the links i had to the parts were all dead. So that annoyed me. But i got a boot of Bette Midler's Las Vegas show and omg, it was as awesome as i hoped it would be. I love her so much. I also saw this video on Youtube of Ruby Wax meeting her in London. They were both trying to out-talk each other and they both spoke really fast xD. I also got the Tokyo Wicked cast recording on my iPod too. I love the Japanese language. And i am currently- rephrase that- just finished downloading Julia and Kendra in tour in Alabama i think. Whatever, it's Julia and Kendra. My ~sort of second~ favourite duo. It's complicated. Well, it isn't that complicated. I just really really like Kerry, Dianne, Kendra and Julia. They're my faves. So i can't decide which one i like more. Phew. That was.. boring.

ANYWAY.
I'll post later on when i get back because i'll obv have to squee and flail and fangirl.
Oh, and i have a whole bunch of icons to post. I iconed some caps of the DH 4x17 episode and other stuff.
